Printable bog rules

1. Judge at start line raises his hand to start your run.

2. Judge at finish line raises his hand to end your run.

3. Time starts when the first judge raises their hand and runs until the second judge raises their hand.

4. Rider is responsible for hooking rope to his/her quad. Rider accepts responsibility for all damages caused while being pulled from the pit. Rider accepts all liability for damage incurred on the bike while competing.

5. No one under the age of 16 is allowed to ride any ATV over 400cc.

6. No alcohol is allowed in the pit while the mud bogs are in progress.

7. Distance is measured from the front of the ATV tires.

8. An ATV must move at least it's own length to have a valid run. If it does not move it's own length from the start line it will be restarted. If the ATV does not make it's own length a second time it is disqualified.

9. No riding the sides of pits. If any tire goes out of the pit you will be sent back to the start line, and must restart your run. Time will not be restarted. If you ride the side of the pit and win your heat it's at the discretion of the judges to disqualify you.

10. At least one hand and one foot must remain on the ATV at all times during the run. The only time a rider is allowed to dismount his ATV during a run is if the ATV is rolling over, rider is then allowed to catch his bike and maintain control. If a rider dismounts and the throttle is pressed they will be disqualified.

11. All registrations must be filled out before the start of the mud bog. If registration is not filled in and returned to the event staff before the start of the mud bog you will not be allowed to compete.

12. No "buy-backs".

13. When registering you must choose your class (IRS, SRA, Women's, Mud Monster, Skimmer or Sponsored). If you choose a class that your bike does not belong in we reserve the right to put you in the class we feel you belong.

14.  Participants competing in the mud bogs are not allowed to drink alcoholic beverages prior to the competition. Participants must be of sound mind and body when entering the competition as well as signing the release form. Unwillingness to cooperate in this situation will lead to an involuntary disqualification.

15.  Judges of the competition have the right to cancel a mud bog class if only a few participants register to compete. The number of participants needed to continue with a class competition is at the discrepancy of the judges; they will decide whether to continue with a class competition after registration ends and before the competitions begin. If a class is canceled, participants will be refunded their registration fee.

16. Un-sportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. Any participant displaying unacceptable behavior will be disqualified from the competition and may be removed from the event if the behavior persists.

17. All participants for the Skimmer class and Sponsored class are required to wear helmets. If a competitor signs up for this class and does not have a helmet or cannot borrow one they will be disqualified from these classes.

18. There will be class meetings to go over the rules before the start of each class. If your class is called and you don't show up for your class meeting you will not be allowed to compete in that division.

18. The judge reserves the right to change the rules. These rule changes will be due to conditions of the mud pit, number of racers, and time issues. All rule changes will be announced before the start of the bog.

Mud Bog:

From now on ATV Mud Mania mud bogs will be bracket races. When registration is complete the brackets will be decided and the bog will begin. Each run will consist of two bikes in the pit racing against each other. The winner out of each bracket will advance to the next round.

We will be no longer be using "buy-backs" for these bracket races. If you loose your race you are eliminated from the competition.

When you register for the mud bog you will be given a tag. The tag will have a number and your class (ex. IRS01). When you get this tag it must be placed on your bike in a visible area. The number is not the order you will run in, but is only used to identify you as a competitor. When the brackets are decided we will call out which numbers or person will compete against each other. Please make sure these number tags are on your bike for the entire competition so we can keep track of what's going on.

Team Bog:

The team mud bog will be a 2 man team competition. Members of each team will line up against each other in a free for all battle to see who has the best team around. Once teams cross the start line you may push, pull, winch, or do anything else that you can do to get your bike across the line. To win both members of your team must complete the course and cross the finish line before the other team. If a member of your team has problems and cannot complete the race you can still win by pushing or pulling them across the finish line before the other team finishes.

If a member of a team has problems with their bike and they are unable to continue after winning a round they may substitute for another member. When you sign up for the team bog you must give the names of your two primary riders and your two secondary riders. You will only be allowed to have two secondary riders.
